40,000 illegal home owners from all areas of Andalucia represented by various associations, have announced that they are to create a federation to fight against the Regional Government’s Decree to solve the issue of houses built on rustic land once and for all. Their argument is that it "doesn't solve anything".

The home owners, both Spanish and foreign, met in Cordoba. The meeting was attended by Abusos Urbanísticos Almanzora No (AUAN) from Almería, the Federation of Associations of La Lagunas de Chiclana (Cádiz), la Asociación de Afectados por Sanciones Urbanísticas (the Association of those affected by Urban Sanctions) from Cádiz, and from Malaga the Asociacion de Viviendas Irregulares (APVI) and Save Our Homes in Axarquía (SOHA).

Residents Associations from Cordoba were best represented, having groups from La Altea, Las Perlas, La Gorgoja II, Córdoba la Vieja and Fontanar de Quintos in attendance.

The associations agreed that the meeting was "very positive" and said that they will be looking to organise meetings with public administrations and political parties in order to look for "a solution, once and for all, for everybody."

They will take part in a protest march in Sevilla on February 28th (Andalucia Day).
